"Joss Whedon and the Real Girl"

It's extremely rare that I'll write a piece saying "I think this person should do that," and then they do it.  Happens occasionally, but rarely.  It was nice, for example, to see the Office of Personnel Management change their approach to tiered prescription drug pricing about six months after I wrote a story revealing that some of their health care providers did it.  But even though I was not remotely responsible for this one, I'm extremely excited that after I wrote a piece for The Atlantic outlining what I think needs to happen for Joss Whedon's new show, Dollhouse, to succeed, the episode that aired this Friday went out and did pretty much what I hoped it would.  I have a lot of faith in Whedon as an artist, and I hope the show gets a chance beyond its initial run to pursue what I think are exciting and worthy ambitions.
