On two points. First, commenter Steven Attewell
points out that there are FDIC scenes in the banks John Dillinger robs in
Public Enemies, so I was wrong to complain on that score (that post was written as a prediction, before I'd seen the movie, but still). And second, my doubts about the movie turned out to be significantly off-base. It's terrific, somber, and even-handed.
