Judgment Calls

It's entirely possible that I'm over-interpreting this, but I'm wondering if it might not be the wisest of all possible programming decisions for TNT to do the network premiere of 300 on September 11. First, I'd be curious to see if and how memorials affect TV viewership that night. And second, doesn't it seem a little, well, tacky? I may also be biased by the fact that I didn't like 300--indeed, until this summer, I was sure it was the worst movie I'd ever paid to see in a movie theater. But doing a lot of advertising around a hyper-violent war movie that stereotypes among other people, residents of the Middle East and disabled folks, on the anniversary of an extremely traumatic event seems a little tasteless to me, and not particularly commercially savvy.
