A Really, Really Fresh Take on the Dance Video

There's some repetition and extraneousness in Shakira's new video for "Did It Again," but damn if the dance sequences set in the bedroom aren't some of the more energetic and innovative things I've seen anyone do in a music video in a long time:

It wouldn't work, of course, if the dancing wasn't good, which it is: strong, springy, expressive without being entirely metaphorical.  As a way of demonstrating the tensions and emotions in a relationship, the balletic and awkward nature of sex, and the range of things you can feel and experience in a limited space (most of the dancing takes place on or very close to the bed in the room), it's a great, fresh video, and really fun to look at.
