Expressing Surprise

Okay, I'm sorry, am I the only person in the country who hates Usher's "OMG"?

Lest I be accused of anti-Usher bias, I am on the record as liking "Spotlight," his track with Gucci Mane, and I will even cop to a horribly guilty sweet spot for "Love in this Club," even though I like the Confessions-era stuff better of his recent work.  But I view the proliferation of will.i.am-style skittery-sounding lyrics with great displeasure.  And to my mind, "oh my God" seems like a weird choice of phrase for the situations he's describing--his breath isn't taken away, he isn't shocked, or surprised, and yet he's using this throes-of-intense-emotion phrase. Also, as a side note, I think Ne-Yo did the hot-dancers-in-suit-jackets thing better in the video for "Miss Independent," and he let them keep the rest of their clothes on, too.  I have no clue why this qualifies as one of the songs of the summer.
