I'm not quite sure how I feel about this remix of Lady Gaga's "Monster":
On one hand, I like that kind of boppy, punctuational drumming. On the other hand, I feel like this is song that maybe should be let alone. I think I feel protective of it because of my interpretation of the lyrics, as an articulate, personal song about sexual assault, and the lines women have to walk but aren't always allowed to walk safely and successfully. And any interpretation that's thinking of it as a bouncy, brash dance song without a ton of meaning in line with most of Gaga's other stuff is perhaps kind of missing the point, or even obscuring it. But then, Gaga folded this all up not in a sober, Lilith Fair-worthy ballad. So maybe the integrity of the message was never particularly the point.
